The unconditional basic income is a topic that is discussed again and again. In America, the issue is also part of the election campaign.
The idea behind the unconditional basic income is that some people say that if we take care of the basic needs like food, drink, house over the head etc., a lot of stress would be taken away from the people. The other big reason is that through machines, robots and other automation possibilities, extremely many jobs are lost and therefore many people have to retrain or become unemployed.
Therefore the idea of the state came up that it gives money to all citizens unconditionally – not that they get rich by doing so, but that they can cover the basic needs.
