The Value of Board Games
Board games have played a central role in my life, and I am convinced that they can enrich your life as well. They are not only a great way to spend time with friends and family but also stimulate the mind and competitive spirit.
From my youth, I have carried two things that have shaped my ambition and competitiveness: sports and board games. Both have taught me how to compete against others, face challenges, and think strategically.
Strategic and Luck-Based Games
There are different types of board games – some based more on strategy, others more on luck. Personally, I like games that offer a mix of both. Chess is a pure strategy game, but I prefer games like “Settlers of Catan” that combine strategic elements with a bit of luck.
“Settlers of Catan” is a game that particularly fascinates me. Klaus Teuber, the creator of this game, has crafted a true masterpiece. With numerous expansions like the Seafarers and Cities & Knights expansions, it constantly offers new challenges and possibilities.
Friendships and Self-Discovery
Board games are not only entertaining but also educational. You learn a lot about the people you play with and discover new facets of your own personality. These game nights are always a highlight for me and offer a welcome break from everyday life.
