On day 23 of the 90-day challenge, I share three valuable tips for your next marketing campaign, whether it’s for a new product launch or to increase interactivity and engagement for your existing product or service. These tips will help you overcome legal hurdles, target your audience effectively and ensure your campaign is commercially viable.
Tip 1: Check Legal Requirements
Before you start your marketing campaign, you must ensure that everything is legally compliant. I know this sounds trivial and can be annoying, but believe me, it is crucial. For example, a few years ago, we had planned a book promotion and had to scrap everything at the last minute because we realized some actions were not legally allowed. So, don’t make the same mistake – check everything thoroughly in advance.
Tip 2: Define and Target Your Audience
Think carefully about who you want to reach with your campaign. Should it attract new customers, motivate existing customers to buy more, or serve as a thank you to your most loyal customers? Each target group requires a different approach. For example, telecom providers usually target new customers and neglect existing ones. In our current campaign at Bake, however, we address everyone – both new and existing customers – to increase activity on our platform.
Tip 3: Ensure the Campaign is Economically Viable
A campaign must be financially viable. Even if you consciously decide not to make a profit in the short term, long-term profitability should be guaranteed. Calculate the costs and expected benefits precisely. In our current promotion, we know how much we earn through customer activities and can calculate exactly how much we can distribute without making a loss. Remember, a poorly thought-out campaign can financially ruin you.
Conclusion
A successful marketing campaign requires planning, consideration of legal aspects, a clear target group definition, and solid economic calculation. If you keep these points in mind, nothing will stand in the way of your success. Feel free to check out our current campaign at Bake, and let me know if you have any questions or suggestions. See you tomorrow for Day 24!
