Like every Monday, I’m writing down things that are important for the coming week. Here are the 7 for this week:

  1. In general: last week was my first week after my only vacation last year. At the same time, the European team meeting and a big crypto event took place. I know I’m behind on some things. I’ll catch up on those this week.

  2. I think the development of the prices in the last week is very worrisome. Be extra careful not to fall for a fake pump. I hope it is sustainable, but I am just not sure. Nothing would help the crypto industry more than bitcoin prices above 30,000. I would be really happy – but I just don’t believe it.

  3. Macro: Last week went as expected from the news. US CPI numbers at 6.5%.

  4. Grayscale did not collapse (and probably won’t this week, but that remains an important point). The DCG/Grayscale/Gemini thing will continue to be on our radar in 2023.

  5. The World Economic Forum in Davos starts today, and goes for the entire week. I would have had a chance to get a visitor invite through a friend who is speaking there, but decided against it. I expect a lot of negative sentiment around it in general – not only about cryptocurrencies due to FTX, and since it’s the first time after Covid, I’m not sure that’s the best of experiences. I’ll look to share a valuable inside or two from there here though when possible.

  6. Monday is US Banking Holiday. The stock market is closed. Crypto is trading 24/7 though.
  7. For  Cake  users only: we are launching a new Staking Coin this week. Also important: On Friday, January 21, at 6am SGT, Cake’s webapp and mobile app will be shut down for 3 hours to update our backend. This is a planned downtime.

And a few key social media appointments: I’m starting regular updates of my daily schedule on Insta again: https://instagram.com/julianhosp

On YouTube I am giving regular updates on the current market conditions: https://youtube.com/julianhosp

Full speed ahead!

Julian

Did I forget something or is something particularly important? Let me know.
